Cinematic storytelling for brands in Scotland and beyond

I create commercial and editorial photography rooted in atmosphere and a strong sense of place. From historic estates and boutique hotels to outdoor campaigns, craft spirits and British clothing labels, my work blends cinematic composition with natural light to evoke depth, texture and narrative.

With a background in BBC documentary filmmaking and film directing, I approach each commission as a story — whether capturing the quiet presence of a heritage building, the character of a landscape, or the detail of a product in its environment.

FAQS

What I Photograph

I photograph all manner of things: Big Houses, Small Houses, Hotels, Restaurants, Cabins, Cafés, Art Galleries, Flowers, Gardens, Business Spaces, Portraits, Fashion, Cats, Dogs, Boats, Kitchens, Castles, Candles, Coffee, Grandparents, Farms, Churches, Mountain Ranges, Pottery + Desserts. Anything that deserves a story in light.

How I Work

Each project starts with a conversation. I work closely with clients to understand the objectives — whether for magazines, brands, products, spaces, or portraits — and plan the shoot accordingly, organising locations, lighting, and schedules to ensure a seamless process and prompt delivery.

Equipment & Techniques

I shoot with a full‑frame Sony A7R IIIA (42 MP) and Sony G lenses to capture high‑resolution detail. I prioritise natural light, adding subtle lighting where needed. I Edit with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop Software, bringing out colour, texture, and the look the brief requires.

Post-Production & Delivery

Edited to the specific project brief, images are delivered via secure cloud. High-resolution (42 MP Detail) print and web-ready files arrive organised and ready to use.

Pricing & Packages

Every project is bespoke, so pricing is tailored to the scope, duration, and requirements. I work with clients to provide transparent quotes that reflect the care, craft, and time invested.

Why Choose Me / Philosophy

I bring a storyteller’s eye to every project, combining a background in documentary and drama filmmaking with a deep appreciation of history and art. The result is photography that’s considered, memorable, and cinematic.
